Ok I know, you don't have to remind me, "I am the Worst Blogger in History." I've completely abandoned my blog for quite awhile now, but there is an excuse for my lengthy, unexpected hiatus.
Besides the common stress and struggles of school and work, I've been working hard on my business plan for this great idea, and yes it's fashion related. Although I'm very passionate about my idea, it has been difficult and time consuming—everything from getting a copyright license down to the market research. I am nowhere near finished, but I'm giving myself up until mid February to finish and perfect my business plan before I pitch my idea to investors. However, I plan to keep you guys posted throughout the evolution process, so stay tuned.
As for what I have on, I'm wearing a pair of vintage Levi's 501 boyfriend denim jeans. Paired with my 501's, I'm wearing a knitted cream crop top, a blazer from Forever 21, a pair of Paris Hilton sandals and costume jewelry.
For those who are unfamiliar with Shingai(Shin-gee), she is the lead singer of the band Noisettes; their music is awesome and just her voice alone is breath taking. Aside from her amazing vocal talent, her style is everything daring with a vintage touch. I've always admired her style and beauty. Here's a few photos that showcase her flamboyant style...
Not only does her voice and style commands attention, but so does her lovely head full of natural kinky curls. Surprisingly enough, more and more women of color are starting to embrace their natural hair. And while some may think "going natural" is a just trend, thus making Ms. Shoniwa "trendy." As the people over at Madame Noire stated, "...that word would be an understatement for a woman that sets trends, rather than following them."
I love mixing different styles. Here I was going for something that says, "I'm rebellious, but I'm an angel." Wearing all black alone helped me easily execute that hard rocking roll look; whereas the hint of white helped to soften it. The polka dots and Juliet shoulders on my jacket really captured the soft angelic look I was aiming to achieve, while maintaining an edgy feel.
I'm wearing a vintage jacket that actually came with a matching bubble skirt, but wearing the two together would just be too overwhelming. Along with my jacket, I'm wearing a pair of Levi 535 legging denim jeans, a vintage belt, and a pair of Badgley Mischka wedding heels.
Today I was off running different errands and getting things together before the Spring semester starts.
Although today was sunny and beautiful, it was a bit nippy so I decided to wear this Banana Republic blazer that I recently purchased for a good price. Along with my blazer I'm wearing a pair of H&M jeans and a cowl neck sweater that I permanently borrowed from my mother's closet. I love wearing blazers and sweaters together, it gives a nice layering effect without making your look overwhelming.
I love, love, love these booties! Got them a while ago, yet they never seem to get old.
It's been awhile since I’ve done a post, but I was recently sick with the stomach flu.
I've always been a fan of leather, so when I saw these chocolate leather pants at Wasteland I had to get them. I think they complement my penny colored platforms very well. My sandals are from Bakers in which I was fortunate enough to get for 75% off the actual retail value.
I'm wearing a cream knitted crop top I bought from Foreign Exchange, vintage chocolate leather pants, bronze snake print sandals, wooden earrings, and my handy dandy burgundy clutch.
